DUAL CONNECT and CRYSTAL CABLE

The “perfect” cable does not exist - what exist are the best cables for a certain audio equipment chain: It’s a matter of best interfaces, it’s a matter of synergies between a cable, interconnect, power or speaker, with its own sonic performances, and an audio chain with its own sonic performances.
To write about “cables” is for a hifi reviewer really a slippery task and, most of all, it’s difficult to evaluate the good “performances for money” ratio, with prices sometimes “fanciful”……
 Anyway, among the hifi cables reviewed this year, we have found real champions, with the caveat of the limit of the observation and listening tests made only in our audio chains, with our preferred music and under our own hifi sound preferences.
In the field of RCA signal interconnects and speaker cables the extraordinary sound quality of the newest and “precious” products from Dual Connect by DACT of Denmark has stood out clearly.
They are solid core products. The RCA interconnects are made with 3 twisted gold wires with a Teflon sheath for each wire; the RCA plugs are “of Eichmann fame and look”. The wires are really handy and flexible with no problem about their insert in an audio equipment rack.
Technically speaking, they are cables with very low capacity (15 pf/meter). In terms of listening their sound is extremely analytic, in association with a kind of neutrality, never heard before. The Dual Connects seem to disappear, with a rare capacity to reproduce all the frequencies in a very natural way.
The ambience, the total absence of “grain” associated with a quite warm sound make these cables an obligatory audition for all audiophiles, also in comparison with much more expensive cables.

The same “philosophy” is used for the Dual Connect speaker cables: In this case we have also cables with low capacity made with two gold plated silver solid core wires, with a Teflon sheath for each wire positive and negative.
Silver wire speaker cables are often “brilliant” at the highs. This is not the case for these Danish speaker cables: Balanced, with a quality of soundstage never heard before, not spectacular, real…
Tried with different types of loudspeakers and amps they have demonstrated to be first class champions and, as the RCA interconnects, the new reference standard to measure against.
The same can be said, as reference standard, about the Power Cord cable from the Dutch Company Crystal Cable, tried by VIDEOHIFI against many international contenders in issue 18.
The AC power cords “sound”, it’s a “fact”, a “good” power cable, perfectly matched with the audio components to which it supplies power, increase the silence and the focusing of the virtual scene of the musical event reproduced.
Crystal Cables Power Cords, actually, seem to be the best choice the marketplace can offer to audiophiles. Yes, they are not cheap so they are not for every one or for every equipment, but in ancillary audio chains what they give in terms of sound quality is not reached by even much more expensive contenders.
